Lip fillers explained: Everything you need to know
At AC Beauty, we take your appearance seriously. We have a long-standing reputation in Europe, and now in Dubai, for offering a wide range of services and delivering excellent client satisfaction.
In the article to follow, we’re going to discuss one of our most popular procedures: lip fillers.
We’ll explain what they are, what they do, how long they last, and why they’re such a versatile cosmetic procedure.
What are lip fillers?
Lip fillers are made from hyaluronic acid, a naturally occuring substance found in the body and particularly in the skin, joints and connective tissues. Hyaluronic acid provides volume by attracting water molecules that then plump up the lips.
Hyaluronic acid is safe to use, because it closely resembles something that’s already in our body, and adverse reactions are extremely rare.
We use filler to give a client fuller-looking lips. We also use it to define lip borders, reduce the appearance of fine lines – and even add moisture. Fillers are particularly popular because there’s no invasive surgery required, and it only takes minutes to apply.
What are the benefits of lip filler?
Lip fillers are popular and effective. Here are some of the benefits they offer:
- Fuller-looking lips: Lip fillers can plump up thin lips, making them appear fuller and more eye-catching.
- Improved symmetry: They can help improve the symmetry and shape of the lips for a more balanced appearance.
- Defined lip borders: Looking to accentuate your natural lip contours? Fillers will help you do that.
- Reduction of fine lines: Wrinkles around the mouth are common as we age, especially if you smoke. Lip fillers can smooth out fine lines and wrinkles.
- Minimal downtime: The procedure is minimally invasive and typically requires little downtime, allowing you to resume your ordinary life quickly and painlessly.
- Customizable results: Want only a small amount of filler used? We can adjust the amount used to give you the results you want..
Overall, lip fillers are a great way to boost self-confidence and they’re extremely popular at our clinic for this reason.
Can lip fillers relieve dryness?
While lip fillers are typically used to enhance the volume of the lip, they also have a lesser known benefit: the ability to provide relief from dry, chapped lips.
This is because hyaluronic acid is hydrating. And by injecting it into the lip, it attracts and retains moisture, thereby giving you long-lasting relief from dryness.
In short, you can kiss your chapstick goodbye.
Can I eat after lip fillers?
You may have a little bit of swelling and sensitivity after the treatment. This is completely normal, and it’ll subside quickly.
For best results:
- Avoid eating or drinking for 1-2 hours after the procedure so that the filler is able to settle. When you do eat again, opt for foods that are cold or room temperature, and avoid drinking through a straw (this can cause bruising).
- Avoid hot food and drinks for 24 hours: heat increases blood flow and could exacerbate any swelling.
- Drink plenty of water.
As you can see, the precautionary measures are minimal, and the swelling will go down in hours.
Are lip fillers permanent?
No, lip fillers are not permanent. That’s one of the reasons they’re popular. After a while, the hyaluronic acid in the filler breaks down and is naturally absorbed by the body (it is a naturally-occuring substance in the body, after all). Effects last for up to a year, and to maintain the look, we recommend follow-up treatments or touch-ups every six months or so.
How much are lip fillers in Dubai?
Whether you’re looking to define your borders, plump up the lips themselves, correct asymmetry or remove signs of aging, our lip filler procedures range from just 350 AED to 1400 AED in price. Take a look at our page dedicated to lip fillers on our website. You’ll find pricing information and more.
Are lip fillers worth it?
Absolutely. There’s a reason they’re one of our most popular procedures.
To recap:
- They offer long-lasting results. Get plump, defined lips with touch-ups every six months to a year.
- They’re made from natural substances. Hyaluronic acid is biodegradable, so it’s naturally absorbed by the body over time.
- Non-invasive. No surgery is required and the procedure takes minutes, not hours or days.
- Cost-effective. Thin, dry or aged lips can make us look less attractive. Lip fillers are a quick and cost-effective beauty hack, favored by celebrities of both sexes the world over.
